For years, the Chevrolet Silverado has been a popular truck in the Ford lineup. Each iteration of this pickup has brought new technology and stronger engines. But this time, Ford is looking to shake things up even further by creating an all-electric version of this iconic vehicle, and we here, Jim Schmidt Chevrolet-Buick Inc., want to share what this vehicle will offer.
What We Know About the All-Electric Chevy Silverado
The All-Electric Silverado will debut at the Consumer Electronics Show on January 5, 2022. Since the full unveil is a few months away, information about this new version of the Silverado is scarce. We know that this truck will come with a fixed glass roof, allowing for expansive visibility and increased headroom.
As for its powertrain, we don't entirely know the specs just yet, but we do know that a Ultium battery will power the Silverado. The Ultium battery is GM's unique electric battery designed from the ground up to deliver electric propulsion, exhilarating torque, and zero emissions.
We are also aware that the electric Silverado will come with a four-wheel steer. Four-Wheel Steer is a feature that allows the vehicle to steer all four wheels. This means the new Silverado will have increased agility and tighter turning radius at low speeds, improved handling, and stability at higher speeds, as well as great trailering dynamics.
